Sure you can have :-)

You have 800pixels*600pixels*2 byte per square pixel.
This makes 960.000 Bytes.

You have 1MByte, this is 1.048.576 bytes=(1024*1024)Bytes

So you have 88576 free bytes. This makes in 16bit mode 44288 square pixels,
that you can stick to your screen.
1) Put 800x655,
2) or 873x600,
3) or, to save the aspect ratio of 4:3, put 836x627

as your virtual screen size. So you leave only 576 (488, 116) Bytes
unused...

Or you buy just another MB and get (800*sqr(2))x(600*sqr(2)) pixels.
Remember: you need 4MB to get full 1600x1200. Wow! We are lucky, that we
have no 3D monitor, aren't we?
