Most want the updated driver because they are using the 3c90x series
of cards. The biggest problems are with the 3c905 cards. Later
drivers do help some in this case. Others have had to disable the
busmaster transmit in the driver. With my 3c900 card all drivers
from somewhere around v0.28 have worked, but I am presently using
the v0.41 driver. It seems to be the most stable for me.

Some have found that certain drivers work better with certain kernels.
Not necessarily the latest driver with the latest kernel.
