libc5_5.4.33-5_i386.deb

I'm having trouble upgrading to -5 from -3 ... here is my output:

# ldconfig
# dpkg -i libc5_5.4.33-5_i386.deb
(Reading database ... 13971 files and directories currently installed)

can anyone help?  I'm trying to install the hamm version..
