nope, you're right.  I tackled them on macbsd.

Probably, for most apps.  I end up using it as an end-run around the X's
single-threading.  It literally takes minutes on this class of machine
to render some of the postscript fonts used by some programs.  Running
xfs on the same machine lets teh display continue to work.

(another month, and this *won't* be a problem :)
