Xpm is significantly different in the 1.1 tree and the servers have new 
names as well, which may require a deinstallation first or just forcing 
properly.  Most of the Debian X-applications are now ELF and they seem to 
work.  In fact, some of the packges in the non-free directory now require 
ELF and this was one of the motivating factors for me to upgrade.
