Re: ppp with pap woes....



  I've gotten the exact same problem on my machine since I installed Debian
1.1.  I managed to trace it to some sort of security problem.  If you look
in the /var/log directory after trying to connect with pppd at the log file
that just got updated, you'll notice that it states that you don't have
permission to execute some command (sorry can't remember the exacts right
now).  

  Unfortunately, I haven't really had the time to sort out this problem
yet, but to work around it, I simply do a 'su root' to run pppd and then go
back to my normal account.  If you don't have access to the root account on
your system, then I don't have any suggestions.  Sorry.
