IP Addresses and Routing
I am just installing a new Debian Linux machine to have a look,
but I have stumbled across a problem I know I have caused, but
can't seem to get cleaned up. I have one Linux machine connected
via SLIP to my provider and 1 Windows machine on ethernet and
1 Debian machine on ethernet. Could someone direct me to the
correct route and ifconfig commands to set up the debian machine
to see the rest of the Internet.
Linux
IP 203.12.237.154
Gateway 203.12.237.153
Network 203.12.237.152
Netmask 255.255.255.248
Ethernet 203.12.237.112
Netmask 255.255.255.248
acepia:~# route -n
Kernel routing table

203.12.237.152 * 255.255.255.248 U 232 0 0 sl0

default 203.12.237.153 * UG 232 0 26780 sl0
The Windows machine has Microsoft TCP/IP stack and is configured as
IP 203.12.237.113
Gateway 203.12.237.112
Netmask 255.255.255.248
I have tried multiple combinations on the Debian machine and at best I
can log into the Linux machine, but no further..
Any hints, including the fact that everything might be wrong are greatfully
recevied.
Many Thanks
Martin
