How big is the Debian distribution?

Can someone tell me how big is the directory tree in debian/stable/binary?
I want to ftp the whole binary tree and install the packages.  I have 
a partition about 260M for the download, is that big enough?  And I have 
a second partition about 500M for the /usr file system.  

Bye the way how can I find out the totol size of a directory tree in an
ftp site?
