Multi-Help!
Hi everyone,
I need some assistance... I have just tried to load TeX and ghostscript
on my machine (no X) and I just can't seem to get the thing to run properly
(not TeX) but dvips and gs. Hereunder I give the results of one of the trial
runs that I made...
Having said that though, there are a few things that I have to make
clear. first is that I didn't install all the fonts in TeX but I thought that
that redundancies should be taken care of by MakeTeXPK. However this fails as
seen below. I dunno anything about it, save that it looks like I should get the
source code (from where) and recompile it (at this rate it looks like it would
be the whole TeX package.)
The second is that my display card is somewhat uncommon it is from avance
logic (ALR) and it runs properly with ever other OS that I have installed on
the system (although to run in 1024x728 mode it does need a display driver but
that is usually in windows type mode). I have no idea how to set the display to
VGA/EGA mode during compile time (The makefile that I have has this for MSD*S
but if I try to use that it fails for lack of "dir.h" and "dos.h" -- and quite
rightly so if I may add ). Another thing that puzzles me is why I get two
different responses when I the gs invocation is from a script (as root or as a
user) and when the invocation is straight from the command line. What is more
puzzling is that when run as a non-root user I get the response that is typical
of runinnig from within a script. Does anyone have any other ideas?, they would
really be most welcomed...
