linux source-1.2.13-x.deb build => what?

    Not knowing what else to do, I went ahead and tried it the
 old-fashioned way:

	 make mrproper
 and
	 make config

 went ok, but when I tried

	 make dep

 here is what happened:

   Is this happening because I did my own `make config'?

   Let me see if I can guess ... what did I enable such that
bsd_comp.c is being compiled when it shouldn't be ...

   `CONFIG_SLIP_COMPRESSED=y' ?
