Metamail depends etc.

Well, as it came to pass, I wanted to express myself in my native
language, and so I recompiled the stable ELM with MIME support (since
the binary .deb package naturally didn't have that feature enabled.)
Next, I got the Metamail package, only to discover that it requires Csh
in order to work right out of the box, which dselect/dpkg wouldn't tell
me, of course. (And the Contents file didn't tell me to get tcsh to get
a stable Debian /bin/csh replacement.) But then I needed to recompile
Elvis as well, in order to get hold of Latin1 digraph support. And so
on. To make one long story short...I'm sort of frustrated with the
minimal support and concern for those of us who aren't isolationist
speakers of US-ASCII. Suggestion: why not give a brief note of which
options that have been disabled and/or enabled in the binary .deb
Packages file?
On the other hand, there is _no_ system on any platform that I have
come across that does internationalization features with a smile. At
least I have the opportunity, with a little bit of agony, use of CDA
censored words and a number of American cigarettes, to enable those
"unnecessary options" myself with Debian.

Thanks.
