When to upgrade to Debian 1.0
Hi,
I've been using Debian Linux 0.93R6 with great pleasure over the
past couple of months, and I have little but praise for it. However,
last time I dftp'ed I noticed that there is quite an elaborate version of
Debian 1.0 on-line. My understanding is that the main difference between
the two is that 1.0 is elf based, as opposed to a.out based, and not much
else.
I would like to keep my system as updated as possible, especially
since I would like to start contributing to Debian as soon as I've got
enough of a grasp of it, but I'm not sure if 1.0 is considered ready for
installation. Can anyone give me some advice on this?
I'm maintaining a server with Debian, so I don't want anything to
happen that's likely to result in days of debugging (I'll get lots of
unhappy souls that way, not to mention my own).
Thanks for all the work people have put in to make Debian possible,
josie
