Looks like something has got corrupted in transit.  gzip doesn't
handle this at all well.  Did you remember to download everything in
binary mode?

Can you provide more information about this?  Anyone trying to track
down your problem will need to know exactly what you did and exactly
what happened.

They'll also want to know which version of dpkg you are using; type
`dpkg --version' to find out.
