Problems with Adaptec 2940 (SCSI)
Hello all,
I've been using Debian on my home machine for ages with no problems,
but yesterday I tried installing it on a machine at work and ran into
something I couldn't figure out. The machine (a generic Pentium box)
has an Adaptec 2940 PCI SCSI controller, and the kernel on the boot
floppy doesn't seem to recognize it. The SCSI Howto document claims
that the 2940 is supported hardware, so what's going on? Is the
kernel on the boot floppy too old? All help very much appreciated, I'd
like to get the machine up and running ASAP.
