Ubuntu'da nvidia driver problemi

Selamlar,

Ubuntu 5.04 Hoary kurulu bir sistemim var ancak biraz sonra anlatacağım 
problemi debian kurarken de yaşadığım için buraya sorabileceğimi düşündüm.

Sorun şöyle: Winfast Geforce DDR 256 modeli bir ekran kartım var. Bu 
kart için /etc/X11/xorg.conf dosyasının "Device" bölümünde (section) 
tanımlayıcı (identifier) olarak "NVIDIA Corporation NV10DDR [GeForce 256 
DDR]" yazıyor. Dolayısıyla X'in doğru çalışması için nvidia 
sürücülerinin yüklenmesi gerektiğini düşündüm ve 
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BinaryDriverHowto sayfasının "NVIDIA Graphics 
Cards" bölümünde yazdığı gibi

# apt-get install nvidia-glx
# nvidia-glx-config enable

komutları ile nvidia-glx sürücüsünü yükleyerek enable ettim. Bu 
komutlardan sonra daha önce "nv" olan sürücü (driver) alanı "nvidia" 
olarak değişti. X'i restart ettiğimde kullanıcı giriş ekranı olan gdm 
geldi ancak kullanıcı adımın ilk 3-4 harfini yazdıktan sonra bilgisayar 
kilitlendi.

Şu anda X çalışıyor ancak ekran kartımın sürücülerini özellikle yüklemek 
istememin sebebi gnome'da sezdiğim yavaşlıklar, pencerelerin açılıp 
kapnırken ekranda iz bırakması ve penceleri taşırken pencereleri 
mouse'mla senkron hareket etmemesi.

Ekte şu anda kullandığım /etc/X11/xorg.conf dosyası var. Sizce bu bir 
sorun mu (Aslında sürücüler olması gerektiği gibi ancak ben mi bunu 
sorun olarak algılıyorum?), sorunsa sorun hakkında bir çözüm önerisi 
olan var mı?
