Configurar Wifi USB con chip sis163u

He estado intentado configurar una tarjeta WIFI de conexion USB con chip
sis163u, no pude conseguir un controlador nativo para GNU/Linux entonces
utilice ndiswrapper v1.90 junto con los driver privativos de SIS, cuando
ejecuto el comando 'iwconfig', obtengo esto:

Cuando ejecuto el comando 'iwlist', obtengo esto:

wlan1 No scan results
Decidí entonces colocar el repositorio 'backports' en mi sources.list, y
actualizar la versión de de 'wireless-tools' a la versión
'29~pre22-1~bpo40+1' para solventar la advertencia:

of Wireless Extension, while this program supports up to version 20.

Y así fue...
El problema ahora es que el dispositivo no encuentra ninguna red WIFI,
teniendo cerca (menos de 1 metro) un router WIFI que he utilizado
perfectamente en previas oportunidades con una tarjeta marca ralink
modelo 'rt61'.
Probé con otra tarjeta obteniendo los mismos resultados.
