Tu configuracion de xorg parece estar correcta, por eso la salida del
glxinfo es correcta, te dice que tienes directrendering.

Ahora a mi me pasa lo mismo con lenny porque no se instala
automaticamente la libreria mesa:

#apt-get install xlibmesa-dri xlibmesa-gl

intentalo y comenta.
