Normalmente es mejor utilizar la RC1 que para eso es (y si falla abrir un bug que es importante para ir puliendo), ademas si no es que utilizas una arquitectura "rara" el tema parece que ya no va a cambiar demasiado a no ser que aparezca algun bug importante.
Yo ya he instalado sarge y sid en varias maquinas (todas x86) sobre RC1 y no he tenido problema alguno en lo basico.
