Hace mucho tiempo que no uso el driver pues cambié de modem, pero 
recuerdo haber visto ese mensaje, yo no hice nada y funcionó.
Usaba el kernel-source- 2.4.18, creo recordar.
Cuando empezaron a pedir dinero por el driver me harté y me compré un 
módem verdadero.
