ATAPI CD-Drive no funciona

Me ha surgido un problema al cual no le he podido encontrar solucion.
Resulta que tenia en la ide primaria al disco duro como hda y una unidad de cd-rom como hdb, luego agregue un segundo disco duro como master de la segunda controladora ide hdc y pase la unidad de cd como esclava en la segunda controladora.
Susede que ahora la unidad de cd se niega a funcionar ( está sana!!! ), modifique el enlace sibolico en /dev/cdrom para que apuntara al dispocitivo /dev/hdd que es donde se encuentra ahora la unidad de cd-rom. Pero no alcano con eso, sigue sin funcionar.
Ademas el dselect no me la encuentra y no puedo agregar unos paquetes que necesito.
Mando adjunto el mensage que mada el kernel cuando arranca el pc, ahi aparecen unos errores de la unidad de cd qu no supe interpretar.
Desde ya agradesco sus ayudas.
