Ayuda como paso de un disquete a disco duro en linux?



Tengo copiado un archivo en un disquete normal en que esta en formato Vrml
browser objet
y el archivo es el siguiente :

Xf86_svga.gz  , lo tengo que pasar a la particion de linux imagino que
descomprimirlo (gunzip) y luego copiarlo al directorio :  XF86_SVGAto
/usr/X11R6/bin
pero casi no se usar los comandos de linux,si fuera MS-dos lo sabria hacer
pasar de A:  a  C:   pero con linux no lo se hacer.

lo que tampoco se muy bien es add lines en ´´ Device´´ section in XF86config

gracias , os dejo escrito todo lo que tengo que hacer mas abajo en ingles ,
debe ser muy facil pero os pido un poco de ayuda.





1. SiS620/530 Linux VGA Driver Setup/Installation

    a. Copy XF86_SVGA.gz to Linux HDD
    b. gunzip XF86_SVGA.gz
    c. copy XF86_SVGA to /usr/X11R6/bin
    d. run xf86config (See System Configuration Section)
    e. vi XF86Config (under the directory /etc/X11)
    f. Add following lines in "Device" section in XF86Config
     Option "hw_cursor"
     Option "noaccel"
     Option "no_bitblt"
     Option "linear"
    g. run startx

2. System Configuration--The recommended setting parameter as you run
xf86config
(Only for reference, these settings are system specific or Linux dependent)

    a. First Specify a mouse protocol type. Choose one from the following
list:
  ¡K
 4) PS/2 Mouse
 Enter a protocol number: 4

    b. If your mouse has only two buttons, it is recommended that you enable
 Emulate3Buttons.
 Do you want to enable Emulate3Buttons? y

 Now give the full device name that the mouse is connected to,
 for example /dev/tty00.
 Just pressing enter will use the default, /dev/mouse.
 Mouse device: /dev/mouse

    c. Beginning with Xfree86 3.1.2D, you can use the new X11R6.1 XKEYBOARD
 extension to manage the keyboard layout. ¡K
