Framebuffer: no lo consigo (y debe ser una tonteria...)

Linux Frame Buffer Device Configuration Version 2.0-pre (28/10/1998)
- Instalé el Xvfb 3.3.2.3-1 como servidor de Frame buffer. El
XF68_FBDev sencillamente no existe en la distribución Hamm,
aunque sí aparece en las fuentres de Xfree86 del Contrib, :-?
¿es para otra arquitectura?
- Desde W$, con un programa que me permite conocer
características del hardware, sale que mi targeta gráfica es
VESA 2.0.

El servidor Xvfb, puesto como servidor sin más en
`/etx/X11/Xserver', al lanzar `startx' se queda "silencioso",

Bueno no se si con estos datos alguien sabe qué pasa, pero si
alguien tiene configurado el FB con un chip S3 le agradecería
que me pase la configuración de kernel y las X o lo que se le
ocurra, a ver si lo soluciono, porque el servidor vga16 es
penoso, los "notescapes" y "wordperfects" se ven de pena, :-(
