Faça uma pesquisa no Google por linmodem, tem algumas informações....ja te digo que isso é complicado e demorado. ....... Vc tambem vai esbarrar em alguns problemas..... Como versão específica do kernel... E pacote binário versão full, e versão limitada com tranmissao abaixo de 56k
Eu instalei um modem igual no debian 5.0 mas já faz muito tempo.
Baixei o arquivo hsfmodem-7.80.02.06full.tar.gz, instalei (#make install), instalei o pacote linux-headers-3.16.0-4-686-pae, mas quando vou executar #hsfconfig, dá o seguinte:
# hsfconfig
