OFF - problema co SSD em SATA 6Gbps

Pessoal,

Sabem se é necessário usar cabo SATA 3para funcionar a 6 Gb/s?

Muitos dizem que os cabos SATA 2 são iguais e também funcionam a 6Gb/s com HDs SATA 3

Estou com problema na instalação de um SSD KINGSTON SV200S364G em sata 6.0 Gbps.

Queria dicas de como identifico se o problema é software ou hardware. E se for software, como resolver.
