problema com gravador de CD

Eu estou tento problemas para conseguir fazer meu PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D ler e gravar CDs.
Consigo reproduzir e gravar DVDs, mas CD ele nem consegue "ver" que tem um CD na bandeja.
Ja não sei o que fazer, e por acaso, esse ja é o segundo drive que tento. O Original da maquina, um OPTIARC tbem nao gravava CDs, ai tentei esse, mas também sem sucesso.
Acredito não ser problemas de firmware. No caso estou usando o fw 1.17
