Caso a sugestão do Gunther não funcione, tente colocar a chamda do Mandriva, como está no menu.lst dele,

title Mandriva 2008.1
kernel (hd1,6)/boot/vmlinuz BOOT_IMAGE=Mandriva_2008.1 root=UUID=88437b78-8c33-47db-972e-826be1666e00 pci=nommconf resume=/dev/hdb2 splash=silent vga=785
initrd (hd1,6)/boot/initrd.img

dentro do menu.lst do Debian, comentando as linhas originais que se referem ao Mandriva.

Rodando o Debian, experimente deixar a entrada acima assim:

# update-grub

e tente inicializar o mandriva. Se der certo, corrija também as outras
entradas (linux-nonfb e failsafe).
