firefox fechando após instalação de driver nvidia

Boa tarde.

Após fazer a instalação do driver da nvidia o meus navegadores estão fechando quando acesso alguns sites. O erro que aparece no console é o seguinte.

E no servidor X aparece algumas mensagens de erro:
Could not init font path element /usr/share/fonts/X11/TTF/, removing from list!
Could not init font path element /usr/share/fonts/X11/OTF, removing from list!
Could not init font path element /usr/share/fonts/X11/CID/, removing from list!

Já tentei criar o arquivo fonts.dir em cada diretório mais não adianta o erro persiste o arquivo fonts.dir é criado vazio.

mkfontdir /pasta
