Hmmm, se não me engano, o r3 tem uma versão mais nova de
kernel, o 2.6.8-3.

Na verdade, ele não achou os arquivos que tava procurando,
o que é estranho, eu não estou acostumado com WinModems da Intel,
então não posso dizer com certeza qual é o problema. Na DFD você
pode achar bastante documentação sobre winmodems:

Pra WinModems Intel, se eles forem AC97, você pode tentar
usar o sl-modem, que fica no contrib/non-free do Debian. ;)

Exatamente o seu problema, procurar por um arquivo que
não está no caminho certo. O source e o headers deveriam ter
adicionado o arquivo .h no local certo pra que você pudesse
compilar.
