Compilando o php5

Estou tento um problema realmente dificil...
Estou tentando compilar o php com suporte a OCI8 e estou seguindo um tutorial oficial da Oracle
Estou tentando compilar o php 5.1.1
e após compilado
o apache nao consegue carregar o php.ini
depois eu tentei usar o apache-modconf apache
e ela retorna a seguinte mensagem de erro:
Error: libphp5.so does not have a corresponding .info file.
The above errors might cause apache to not work properly or start
Please refer to the documentation on how to fix it or report it to
Debian Apache Mailing List <debian-apache@lists.debian.org> if in doubt
on how to proceed
Eu procurei no google... procurei no php.net...
E nao consegui achar nada!
poucas foram as ocorrencias em ingles ou portugues desse tipo de erro!!!
