Problemas para instalar o fuse

Caros Amigos,

Instalei o gmailfs, mas não estou conseguindo instalar o fuse. Instalei
o pacote fuse-source, mas na hora de rodar o ./configure
--with-kernel=/usr/src/linux ele retorna o seguinte erro:

configure: error:
*** Cannot determine the version of the linux kernel source. Please
*** configure the kernel before running this script

Como eu resolvo esse problema?
