X nao inicializa (no devices detected)

Tenho um P4 2,4Ghz, 512MbRAM,
Debian GNU/LINUX Woody 3.0r1a,
Windows 98 (6 Gb do HD para ele),
placa de som onbord pc-chips
da sb, sound blaster LIVE!,
monitor 17' Philipps 102S,
Placa de vídeo: nVidia GeForce MX 440 64MB,
HD 40Gb (nominal), teclado ABNT2,
mouse Genius Netscroll Optical (PS/2),
placa de rede Realtek, CDRW HP 9000s...
mas como segue no log abaixo,
não estou conseguindo usar o X...
já tentei dpkg-reconficugre xserver-xfree86 , xserver-common,
tentei reinstalar o X, mas acho que ele está bem instalado,
e o problema deve ser outro...
A mensagens de erro são:

mas estou enviando o log em
anexo caso alguém queira saber.
