problemas com o postfix

Pessoal,

estou tentando habilitar a autenticaćão no postfix. Está dando o seguinte erro:

Mar  8 15:26:44 termix postfix/smtpd[8206]: fatal: no SASL authentication
mechanisms

Veja os pacotes instalados:

ronaldo@termix:~$ dpkg -l | grep postfix
ii  postfix        2.0.16-4       A high-performance mail transport agent
ii  postfix-ldap   2.0.16-4       LDAP map support for Postfix
ii  postfix-pcre   2.0.16-4       PCRE map support for Postfix

Tirando a autenticacao tudo volta a funcionar.

O que pderia ser?
