teclado congela no GDM - parte 2

valeu a dica!
encontrei lah um bug report similar ao que acontece no meu micro,
mas nao sei avaliar a resposta desse report. veja soh:

You have a getty process on tty7.  (or something else that opens tty7).
tty7 is used by all display managers in X, and you'll find the same problem
with them all.  You can't have two things opening the same tty at once, or
you get no keyboard input.

como eu faco pra verificar se esse problema do tty7 estah mesmo ocorrendo?
algum processo na inicializacao pode estar usando esse console sem que eu
tenha percebido?
antes eu usava o gdm da ximian, e funcionava ok. ao atualizar de stable para
testing ele comecou a ter esse problema (o gdm foi um dos pacotes substituidos
na transicao).
