Em geral, nenhum. A especificação para arquivos de texto Unix não pede um.
Você vai precisar usar o tamanho de arquivo para detectar EOF.
Por outro lado, ^D (ASCII 0x04, EOT / End Of Transmission) pode ser
utilizado para indicar para fechar uma pipe, tal como um "cat >teste". Isso
não significa que o ^D (EOT) seja usado como o ^Z (EOF) do formato de
arquivos do MSDOS...
