The idea of locks in this case is just to tag the file, saying "this
one's mine - go work on something else"...
The thing is that most of us would like to grab a file - work with it
for 5-50000 minutes, then return a translated file.

We don't really "need" locks, but that way we automatically make sure
that each file is translated only once.
If we don't, 2 or more persons could be spending lots of time and
energy on the same damn file - with or without conflicts.
