Es gibt einen Eintrag im Bugtracker:

Irgendwo sind zwei mögliche Workarounds beschrieben.

(A) install mysql-server and purge it again.
(B) execute the following commands as root:
   # mkdir -m700 /var/lib/mysql-files
   # chown mysql:mysql /var/lib/mysql-files

Danach musste ich zwar noch einmal meinen Rechner neu starten, aber
KMail bzw. Kontact läuft jetzt wieder.
