[halb OT] Videofiles aspect ratio ändern

Hi Leute,

ich habe hier zwei Videofiles, eines ist ein WMV, das andere ist ein
AVI. Bei beiden stimmt das Display Aspect Ratio nicht:
File Darstellung Realität
WMV    4:3         16:9
AVI    unbekannt¹   4:3

Unbekannt heisst folgendes: Das AVI wird mit echten 640x480
aufgenommen, das Gerät speichert es aber mit 720x480 ab, was halt ein
fehlerhaftes AR produziert (das Bild wird ein wenig in die Breite
gezogen).

Die Frage ist:
Wie kann ich mit Debian (am liebsten auf der Kommandozeile) das
Aspect-ratio (und nur das) der Videofiles korrigieren?

Erstellung des WMV ist unbekannt, das AVI wurde mit diesem netten
Spielzeug erstellt (gibts bei eBay für unter 10,-€):

Ein Zitat von dort:
"Camera #3 takes a 640x480 image and upconverts it to 720x480 in the
AVI file. There is no PAR (pixel aspect ratio) property in an AVI file
and pixels are assumed to be square. If you play this file with square
pixels it will look distorted (a circle will look like a wide oval).
To avoid this distortion force the player to 4:3 DAR (display aspect
ratio) or re-encode the video to a 4:3 DAR."

Genau das will ich jetzt hinkriegen - nur wie?
