Mea cupla. Ich hatte bei mir die Version 7.2.4 und die kennt schon
den Typ bytea - 7.2.1 was dabei ist kennt ihn wirklich nicht :-)
Aber heute ist eh der Tag, an dem PostgreSQL 8 released wird und
da freu ich mich schon drauf (endlich Tablespaces, hurra!)!

Vielleicht sollte man bei Gelegenheit mal auf eine neuere Version
umsteigen, denn mir persoenlich gefaellt der Gedanke nicht,
binaere Daten als Text umzuwandeln, wenn es doch auch eine
"schoenere" Loesung gibt :-) Aber das ist ja Geschmackssache...
