alsa hatte ich nicht laufen. m.e. brauche ich das
auch nicht, weil ich auf einem anderen rechner
eine quasi identische debian konfiguration
installiert habe (ohne alsa) und dort das volume
control perfekt funktioniert.
habe trotzdem mal alsa installiert mit
apt-get install alsa-base alsa-utils
installation war erfolgreich, problem hat sich
aber verschlimmert, weil alsaconf sich nicht
starten laesst. ursache ist leider, dass m.e. die
soundkarte nicht mehr erkannt wird (kann auch
keine cd's mehr hoeren, was vorher noch ging):
Starting ALSA.../etc/rc2.d/S20alsa: Error: alsactl
restore failed with message '/etc/rc2.d/S20alsa:
alsa 1: alsactl: command not found'.
und auch mein setmixer geht nicht mehr ;-(
Setting mixer volumes with setmixer... Error
opening /dev/mixer.failed.
was tun?
ach ja ... hardware ist m.e. ok (andere soundkarte
gleiches modell eingebaut, anderen pci steckplatz
benutzt, error message bleibt)

Hast du alsa am laufen? Wenn nicht, installiers
mal und probiers nochmal.
