nun, da Du eine Fehlermeldung hast benötigst Du den kompletten Text der 
Fehlermeldung ähnlich 

"Meta is not a valid keyword in this section"
 (EE) Problem parsing the config file
 (EE) Error parsing the config file
 Fatal server error
 no screens found

Dazu gebe mal (in einer Zeile)

egrep -n5 "(\(EE\) Problem parsing the config 
file)" /var/log/XFree86.0.log 

ein, was 5 Zeilen Kontext nummeriert ausgibt, oder einfach 
less  /var/log/XFree86.0.log , und poste die _relevanten_ Textteile.

Das gibt dann bestimmt einen Anhaltspunkt.

Du kannst Dann auch selbst per google versuchen mehr herauszubekommen, 
z.B. so
http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=%22%28EE%29+Problem+parsing+the+config+file%22&btnG=Suche&meta=

indem Du den Suchtext "(EE) Problem parsing the config file" "Meta is 
not a valid keyword in this section" <- (oder entsprechend) in 
"Anführungszeichen" in die Suchmaske tippst (sorry, ist nicht so 
gemeint ;-)

Wenn google nichts bringt weiß hier ja vielleicht jemand etwas damit 
anzufangen.
