Suche sowas wie md5 aber nur 16-20 stellen ?

Moin Leute,

Ich suche sowas wie md5, was aber nur nur 16 Stellen anstatt
32 Stellen produziert. Kann mir jemand was empfehlen ?

Ich muß lediglich einen Textstring am stdin umwandeln und am
stdout ausgeben.
