Booten von Software-RAID mit Debian-Kernel ?
Hallo,
ich kompiliere zur Zeit meine Kernel selber, da mir irgendjemand mal
sagte, dass man nicht von Software-RAID booten kann, wenn man die
entsprechenden Module nicht fest in den Kernel einkompiliert. Ist das
wirklich korrekt ? Die benutzten RAID Partitionen sind alle vom Typ
"linux-raid-autodetect" oder so ähnlich. Hier ist ein Auszug aus meiner
lilo.conf:
boot=/dev/md0
raid-extra-boot="/dev/sda,/dev/sdb"
root=/dev/md1
Wenn ich jetzt in die /etc/mkinitrd/modules hineinschaue, dann steht da:
This file should contain the names of kernel modules and their arguments
(if any) that are needed to mount the root file system, one per line.
Wäre es also möglich den standard Debian Kernel zu benutzen und in diese
Datei einfach alle Module einzutragen (raidXX, SCSI-Controller,
Filesystem) ? Ich könnte nach wie vor vom Software-RAID booten ? Das
autodetect der RAID devices funktioniert auch noch ?
