Woody and NetGear WG311

Hello.
I'm new to the Debian mailing list and I have this problem:
I use a Debian "out of the box" with the 2.4.18 Kernel from the CD-Images
and need to setup a Netgear WG311 802.11g WLAN Card (PCI).
I've installed "madwifi" but nothing happens. The "ath_pci" Packages won't
be found by modprobe !

Maybe I stuck beause I'm relatively new to Linux ?!
"Rtfm" I've done.
Can anyone give me a kind of an "step-by-step" tutorial for that ?
