kernel 2.6.x deutlich langsamer als 2.4
Hi,
Ich hab hier auf meiner Workstation das seltsame Verhalten, dass 2.6
wesentlich langsamer ist, als 2.4. Also zumindest unter X, auf der
Konsole hab ich keine Vergleichsgefühl. glxgears hat aber z.B. die
selben Werte. Letzter Test: 2.6.2, mit dem aktuellen nvidia-treiber für
2.6. Hab auch den Nettigkeitswert (*grins*) schon auf 0 gesetzt, das
ändert auch nix.
Bisher verwende ich 2.4.23 mit lowlatency, preempt und mit angepasstem
Makefile, damit er auch wirklich auf Pentium3 optimiert und nicht nur
auf PentiumPro. Dass der ein klitzkleines bisschen schneller ist, als
ein normaler is klar, aber dass der 2.6er merklich so langsam ist,
wundert mich doch.
Am krassesten bemerke ich das bei xwd, das Auslesen eines Fensters in
1600x1200 dauert mit 2.4 ca. eine halbe Sekunde und mit 2.6 sind es
satte 3 Sekunden. (p3 1ghz)
