Sieht aus als haettest Du irgendwie Deine sources.list etwas verbogen.
Mache erstmal ein apt-get update und gucke was dir dann ein
apt-get install proftpd sagt. Im Idealfall geht es dann. Im schlechteren
Falle geht es immer noch nicht und Du solltest mal gucken was in der
/etc/apt/sources.list eingetragen ist.
Passend ist in z.B. folgendes:
#woody - stable
deb http://ftp.uni-koeln.de/debian woody main
deb http://ftp.uni-koeln.de/debian-non-US woody/non-US main
deb http://security.debian.org/ woody/updates main
Nach den Aenderungen auch erstmal wieder apt-get update und dann nochmal
mit dem Install probieren.
