"hdparm -d1" macht nichts anderes als DMA einzuschalten. Sauberer und
sicherer waere es allerdings wenn das der Kernel selber macht, d.h. wenn
du in deinen Kernel die Unterstuetzung fuer deinen IDE-Chipsatz
einkompilierst und "Use PCI DMA by default when available" aktivierst.
Funktioniert das bei dir dann auch ohne den hdparm-Aufruf? Wenn nein, was
fuer einen IDE-Chipsatz hast du ("cat /proc/pci")?
