ES1978 Maestro 2E + alsa 0.9

Hi,

ich versuche schon seit ein paar tagen eine Soundkarte unter woody zum laufen 
zu bringen. 

habe das kernelmodul maestro geladen (beuntze kernel 2.2)
lspci zeigt diese korrecht an als: ESS Technology ES1978 Maestro 2E (rev 10)

wenn ich sie nun aber in alsaconf einrichten will wird folgende fehlermeldung 
bein starten ausgegeben ( beuntze alsa 0.9+0beta10-5 )

hat jemand eine Idee was ich machen kann???
