je vais peut-être te dire une connerie...mais :
apparemment ton xorg.conf a l'air correct. Es tu en SID ?
Si oui alors c'est normal! et oui...l'inconvénient de SID c'est que parfois ça marche plus...j'ai à peu près le même xorg.conf que toi et ça ne marche plus (alors que ça marchait avant). la faute à qui...eh ben au driver radeon/ati de Xorg qui apparemment n'est plus totalement compatible avec Xorg 7.2 ... ya des déjà des bugs ouverts à ce sujet. donc il te faudra prendre patience pour pouvoir utiliser le mergedFB (fort commode qui plus est!)

Le moniteur principal est a gauche et je l'utilise le en 1280x960@85Hz Je voudrais utiliser l'autre, branché sutr le DVI avec un adapt, en 640x480 à disons 75Hz. Je voudrais que quand le moniteur secondaire est branché le bureau s'étende dessus.

- Option "MonitorLayout" "CRT, CRT"
Malgré ce qu'indique le commentaire (repompé sur un xorg.conf trouvé sur le net) j'ai mis "CRT, CRT" car le man de radeon ne fait pas que "CRT = VGA Port" mais plutot le contraire. 

- Option "MetaModes" "1280x960-640x480"
Je n'ai pas encore mis le mode sans le moniteur secondaire, c'est intentionnel, je voudrais bien d'abord réussir a faire marcher celui-ci. 

- Situation présente:
Avec le xorg ci-joint mon moniteur principal est en 1280x960@85Hz et l'autre affiche "hors freq 85Hz", je suppose qu'il est en mode clone ou quelque chose du genre. Je suis passé par plein d'autres résultats en modifiant le xorg.conf en long et en large, mais jamais rien de satisfesant.
J'ai suivit le man et lu pas mal de tutoriels mais je n'y arrive tjrs pas si quelqu'un peu me donner un coup de main.
