Ich würde aber erwarten, dass eine Package, deren Info so aussieht:
| This package provides a module for handling graphics directly from PHP
| scripts. It supports the PNG, JPEG, XPM and uncompressed GIF image formats

auch JPEG unterstützt, also bereits so kompiliert wurde.
