Auflösung bestimmst du durchs vertauschen der Aufzählung in der
ensprechenden (Farbtiefen-)Sektion, die virtuelle durch den
entsprechenden Eintrag. Siehe unten.

Gar nicht. Apt's Packages-Dateien sind auf ihren alten Positionen, und
die dort eingetragenen Pfade sind passend auf das Pool gemappt. Aus
der Sicht des Users hat sich also nichts verändert, nur woody statt
stable eintragen.

Yep, die Index-Dateien (Packages.gz, Sources.gz) sind wichtig.

Damit kann ich nicht helfen, es gibt aber immer wieder Aufschrei wegen
